Can't connect
« on: September 02, 2013, 04:26:34 PM »
Hi,

I was having trouble connecting using the software. It would fail every time I tried with "unknown error". So I tried reinstalling the software, and now it just says "Retrieval of configuration and keys failed." So I can't even attempt to connect anymore.

Hi there. This error is most likely due to you not having the latest, up to date keys that you need to connect to our servers. You will always need to update your keys and config files every time you purchase or renew your subscription. Thankfully, this is pretty easy with our client.

+ Try this please. Open up the BolehVPN client, then go to the Settings tab and hit Update. Try connecting now, hit No on any expiry notifications you get.

+ If that fails, using Internet Explorer / Safari, visit our user portal (https://portal.bolehvpn.net) and login. Now, start up the BolehVPN client, go to the Settings tab and hit Update. Try connecting now.

+ If this fails as well, hit Download keys from the user portal. You will download a .zip file, open it up and extract the contents to the BolehVPN\cfg\OpenVPN (If you are on Mac, this is the address /Applications/BolehVPN.app/Contents/MacOS/cfg/OpenVPN/ ) folder. Make sure that they are extracted as **loose, individual** files and not into another folder inside the OpenVPN folder.

Restart the BolehVPN client and try connecting now.

Hi Chris,

Thanks, downloading the keys and putting them in that folder worked. But now I'm back to my original problem - I can't connect to the server (FullyRouted-USA).

The log is full of messages like "read UDPv4: Connection reset by peer (WSAECONNRESET) (code=10054)", "[UNDEF] Inactivity timeout (--ping-restart), restarting", "SIGTERM[hard,] received, process exiting"

I tried detailed ping on the server status tab, shows 69ms ping, 0% loss, though speed test doesn't work (says Test..., then goes to Canceled). I ran a tracert and did not see anything unusual.

Any ideas?

FullyRouted-USA is full due to high popularity. If you require a USA IP, please use our Surfingstreaming servers. If you wish to torrent or download, please use non-USA servers.
