« on: August 12, 2010, 02:47:50 PM »
I'm just wondering if theres away to make Boleh portable so I can run it at work without installing openvpn? I know a couple of VPN services I testes supplied a portable firefox with the service details already added. Many thanks.

Not in its current form. Are you sure the firefox is connecting through a VPN or just a mere proxy service? I'm not sure how it can achieve this if it's using a VPN?

BolehVPN is based on OpenVPN which requires the installation of a virtual network driver so you can't do this like a normal executable.

One service used TOR as a free alternative and another appeared to use their own portable exe to launch the VPN. Others could well have been a proxy.

I could but I doubt it would be looked on favourably here as after all, they are potential competitors. All I can say is that they successfully bypassed my work proxy and allowed me to view sites that would otherwise be blocked without installing anything. As pointed out, from a security point of view, they may have been using some kind of proxy but I understand at least two were VPN services.
