General Discussion / Re: Issues with Netflix - Any updates?
« Last post by hyperpotamus on June 12, 2017, 01:54:07 PM »
Hi Chris,

First of all, thanks for the reply!

Your suggestion did work, thanks! I should've tried those servers before posting here - my bad.

However, I am already in the USA, so I mostly wanted to have access to other places' Netflix libraries. From what I've seen here, I can access Netflix from the USA, Malaysia and Japan using SufingStreaming servers.

Do you know if BolehVPN plans to expand the SufingStreaming servers to other places, like Europe, South America, Africa or Oceania?

Thanks again for all your help!

Hey there,

You should have the latest set of configs - try the various Surfingstreaming-US servers? Those servers should work from our last tests.

General Discussion / Issues with Netflix - Any updates?

Hi there,

I'm a new BolehVPN user and I saw that there were some issues using Netflix while connected to BolehGEO, according to this post of Aug 22, 2016.

So it's been almost a year and I can't find any updates on the site or anything. When I try to go on Netflix, I still get the standard error message:

Quote
Whoops, something went wrong...
Streaming Error
You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again. For more help, visit netflix.com/proxy.

So, when is this going to be fixed? Or should we just get used to the idea that Netflix just won't work again?

Thanks!

Installation Support / Re: How do I setup Bolehvpn with Pfsense ?

There isn't an official guide on the website, some staff might know how, I'm not sure.

This is the Client support section of BolehVPN:

https://www.bolehvpn.net/clients-installations/

Pfsense isn't something typically supported through a VPN service, and usually when someone is stepping up to this level, it's considered they're experienced to do it on their own.

I have used Pfsense in the past, I found it pretty straight forward, install the OpenVPN package, then go through the settings of Pfsense based off the options you see listed in the .ovpn config files.

All I can tell you is there is a lot of information online that can help guide you in the right direction to get a good feel for this. If this doesn't work for you, Pfsense has an IRC channel on Freenode, where you can get real time support.

Installation Support / Re: Boleh with OpenWRT

Are you using OpenVPN from the command line, or do you have a web gui interface for OpenWRT?

If there's a gui interface, I need to see screen shots of all the settings.

DD-WRT is simpler to use, so if you struggled with that, then OpenWRT might be a real challenge, something to consider.

OpenWRT and DDWRT are just firmware for routers and embedded devices, networks don't require them. Not sure what you mean that your network requires OpenWRT?

Are you using a GUI front-end with OpenWRT? If so take screen shots so I can see the settings/options.

My modem is only detectable with OpenWRT firmware.  Im fairly comfortable configuring OpenWRT using Putty and WinSCP.  I have copied the necessary files to the openvpn folder on the router, and I am able to connect to the VPN server, but I get this error in a loop as it keeps trying to reconnect:

daemon.err openvpn(nordvpn)[2449]: Connection reset, restarting

daemon.notice openvpn(nordvpn)[2449]: SIGUSR1[soft,connection-reset] received, process restarting

After playing around I've discovered my network setup requires OpenWRT.  DDWRT wont work.  Can you provide me with any more instruction on how to setup Boleh with OpenWRT?

Just a thought here, but have you tried DD-WRT? I've been using it for around 3-4 years with BolehVPN and it's been great, also a lot simpler to deal with.

I know that DD-WRT pumps out firmware versions and documentation isn't the greatest, but I have had only a few minor issues over the years, and it's been rock solid.

I'm a pretty serious Linux Geek and I was turned off by OpenWRT and found DD-WRT to be a better solution, but of course, each to his own...

I decided to give DD-WRT a try.  Question about the install, when choosing a server do the security settings from the ovpn file of choice (eg "FullyRouted-Luxembourg.ovpn) need to be inputed exactly into DD-WRT?  The Boleh guide only mentions the IP address needs to be inputed, seems to imply the security settings are user choice, is that correct?  I went through the guide, copy and pasted everything, but no activity of any kind in the OpenVPN log in DDWrt.
