Hello -- new user here. I'm using the FullyRouted connection because it was the most straightforward to get going.
Is there any way to bind it to applications (such as Firefox, Utorrent, Mirc) so that the Internet connection will automatically disconnect if the VPN connection is lost?
Also, what is BolehRoute?
Thanks.

BolehRoute is the old term for the FullyRouted servers. If you are using our Windows GUI, that feature is already built in. Your traffic is temporarily frozen in the event that your connection to the VPN is unexpectedly lost.
-
Chris, thanks for the reply.
When you say that traffic will be "temporarily frozen," do you mean that any downloading or uploading via any application (including torrents) will stop until the Windows GUI attempts to automatically re-connect?
I ask this because if I disconnect the VPN manually, I'm still able to get a regular Internet connection afterward. (My previous service -- HMA -- offers a "secure bind" feature that disallows any traffic even after a manual disconnection.)
-
Yup that's correct. It only kicks in if the connection to the VPN is lost unexpectedly, not if you manually disconnect from the VPN.
-
Thanks for the quick responses, Chris. Lovin' the service so far and the great speedy connections! :)

We still recommend using a program like VPNCheck since our GUI depends on OpenVPN to report the disconnection.
-
Reuben, thanks for the heads-up on VPNCheck. Not knowing anything about the prog, I did a forum search and see that you posted this link:

You had suggested the "OpenVPN version" which now seems to be part of the paid PRO version. Any other software you can recommend in its place?
(Also, when you're talking about OpenVPN, I'm assuming you just mean the Windows GUI that I installed and not some add-on function or application.)
-
You can use a firewall to configure your program to only use the VPN interface.
OpenVPN is the underlying VPN technology behind BolehVPN-GUI.
Chris has written a guide here on using the firewall method which is far more reliable

Reuben, thanks for the Comodo info. Don't suppose there's a guide for Norton Internet Security?
-
Good afternoon.
Why are you suggesting to use Vpncheck since your software has already the same feature built in ?
-
For additional security and protection, since our GUI depends on OpenVPN to report the disconnection.
-
I tried Vpncheck : it almost freezes my keyboard, i can't type any letters (weird but true).
I also checked Vpnetmon and Vpnguard but they don't work with openvpn.
So my only solution is adjusting my firewall.
I have a question : those solutions apply to vpn connections but what about the
sock5 proxied ones ? For example if you set utorrent to use Boleh's proxy, does all
traffic stop when the server is down ?
I still don't have the answer because so far i have never been disconnected !! (fingers crossed ;-)
Bye.

if u use utorrent to use boleh's proxy then in the event of disconnection (and all privacy options are ticked and only to use the proxy) then you are safe.
