Reuben,
Seriously, this TM capping issue is going to affect your VPN business since there is no more advantages on VPN anymore. If TM keep this up longer people might stop using VPN services.
-
I think that people will start rioting first. It's an unacknowledged cap on connections, restricting their customers to less than what they're paying for, it's an abuse of consumer rights. It's like paying 12 bucks for a set meal from McDonalds, but they only give you fries and water, no burger.
-
but we have no choice ,boleh land ma :P
-
clieman: it will affect business but the ISP liability act will also increase business.
It becomes do u wan to dl or are u not going to dl?
Fact is that there's nothing we can do since it's a global cap which is a travesty in itself and until people start making complaints and kicking a fuss, TM won't do anything about it. What makes me upset is that in LYN a lot of ppl don't follow through with their complaints and just rant there. Step up to action. I've done my bit!

Well, I do agree that if I still want to download I'd use BolehVPN. Main attraction is the IPTorrent stuff.
I get my BT entirely from IPTorrent, whereby other I'd only use site like Rapidshare etc. No more public BitTorrent.
The cap seems to ease when the International link is free up (at late night) so at this point it is still bearable.

for me, I juz grab as much as I could before they implement something worse than this. :P

I wonder, what is this bolehvpn useful for? According to the forums and the home page, it states that it guarantees smooth P2P connections and removed restrictions to foreign sites. Isn't this possible with free alternatives such as Tor or Hotshield?
I currently do not have issues with capping or throttling, and anyway, how does VPN can actually alleviate the issue of capping when the capping is applied directly to the client?
-
Tor and Hotshield provide a free proxy for people who wish to access blocked sites. However, they don't have the bandwidth to support constant torrenting. Also, they're rather well known and some ISPs have blocked Hotshield.
Not sure what you mean by applied directly to the client, but some ISPs cap download speed by not giving priority to p2p packets. Using our VPN secures your connection and makes sure that your ISP doesn't inspect your packets.
