It's pretty well known that the US Government funds Tor.

Yes Poewell that is what the article was pointing out that I put a link to.

Without getting into details, because there are quite a bit, there is also still a lot of credibility for Tor.

I personally don't use it, and I don't recommend it as the only Layer of protection. I consider for those that are more paranoid, to add it as a Layer to the VPN, connecting VPN > Tor, so that Tor goes over the VPN, which does add a nice layer, at no additional costs...
