firewall and IP range
« on: November 14, 2014, 01:13:42 PM »
i'm looking at a bunch of VPN providers, but one of the big concerns is an ability to set up my router firewall to act as a VPN killswitch, to stop traffic if the vpn disconnects.
this needs to be run in the router, as my NAS doesn't support rules of this type.

to do this, i'll need to block all traffic except that going to the VPN DNS, the VPN connection's IP, and the range of IPs the VPN may assign me.

I've looked but can't see any any documentation for these ranges or IP's on the FAQ/support area.
If i subscribe, will i be able to access this list of IP's?

Hi there,

I've referred this to one of my superiors who should be commenting on this shortly.

Which router are you using and what kind of rules are planning to use?
There is no need to know any of the IP or DNS as it is dynamic and depends largely on the server that you are connecting.
If you can provide the firewall that you are going to use and the firmware of your router, maybe we can assist you in creating a set of rules to suit your need.

Thank you
