Can you download the new client over a ssl/https connection?

Just wondering if you can download the client over a secure encrypted connection? As it is on the boleh blog the connection is not secure-its a http only connection-Im afraid that my username and password can be read by a third party or is being leaked out.

Your account details aren't preloaded into the client you input them after you've downloaded and installed the client. No login info is required to access the download either.
