Title: Azureus, Kaspersky Internet Security, and Windows Vista SP1
Post by: Irzani on June 09, 2008, 07:16:26 PM
As stated in the title, do I need to to change anything like open port or enabling Application in the Firewall?

For default setting before installing VPN, the icon is green and the download is ok. Already open port for Azureus and with the modem . Test TCP is ok.

Already follow all the setting that were provided in the VPN Installing Topic For Azureus.

c) FOR WINDOWS VISTA ONLY Browse to C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\bin. You will see openvpn.exe and openvpn-gui.exe. Right click on them, click on Compatibility and check 'Run as Administrator' for both.
KIS should able to detect the TAP win32 adapter you just need to allow it and set it to stealth mode

Thanks for the file. Anyway, how to check whether the VPN already connected and use? My average right now is 9kb/s to 26kb/s, before VPN, sometimes I manage to get 50 kb/s (rare) especially at night. So, is there any way to check whether I'm already use the VPN ? Or the easy way is to e-mail the Boleh VPN provider to ask for the detail? Perhaps, it's already running ..

Thanks

speeds are always going to depend on so many factors...TM routing, number of seeds etc.  When I was new here, I didn't immediately see the super speeds you keep hearing about.  Why? Probably because it took me a while to run thru and make sure I had done all the suggested tweaks in the forum, test which IPs I got the best speeds from, etc.  Once you do though, there's no turning back :)

On well seeded torrents, i avg between 80-120kB/s.  How not to be happy with it man heheh

Erm not if you set it in Compatibility it will start as Administrator all the time.

Please REREAD this carefully:

c) FOR WINDOWS VISTA ONLY Browse to C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\bin. You will see openvpn.exe and openvpn-gui.exe. Right click on them, click on Compatibility and check 'Run as Administrator' for both.

Owh ya, forget about that before :o .

Anyway, is it normal for the icon images in the Azureus to keep yellow instead of green? Before VPN, it's green. After VPN, it's yellow, but the speed is nearly same, perhaps 10 kbp/s increase from usual. Is there any setting that I forgot or should add to get the speed like others VPN, 60kbp/s average at least ..  8)

And my main question is how do I detected whether my torrent application already connected using the VPN? Is there any way?

P/s: Just bought 7 days trial today just to assure and test it again ..

using vpn get yellow icon on torrent client is normal because the way vpn works (except for fully-route)

try ubuntu torrent for speed test > http://releases.ubuntu.com/8.04/ubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso.torrent

also please read this thread, especially #2 > http://www.bolehvpn.net/forum/index.php/topic,61.0.html

Hi there,

Look like the connection is good for a few days using BolehRoute but sometimes it's getting slow and I change to Boleh VPN and it works ..  ;D . I wonder which one is better ???

What I can see :

1) BolehRoute - Very slow in Internet Explorer when torrenting. But, I love the torrenting download speed and it's easier to use . No need to configure anything. Only certain times, the speed slow like BolehVPN.
2) BolehVPN - Fast as usual in Internet Explorer even with torrenting. But, the speed is not stable, sometime slow, and sometimes it's fast in torrenting.

Which one should be a favorite?

It's a matter of choice and timing really. There is no 'ultimate' solution here :P

The speed fluctuations have less to do with our service but rather with TM's fluctuating quality and routing.

I generally prefer using BolehVPN when I work on my PC and BolehRoute when I leave it to download overnight.

I would like to ask if anyone got a problem with the new Azureus Vuze application download yesterday?

The problem is port closed when using BolehVPN . Without the BolehVPN connected, Azureus port is OK or in another words is open. Need advice.

Thanks  :o

Can't get open status with BolehVPN only BolehRoute. This is due to the use of a proxy. For most purposes this should not affect your speeds significantly.

check the server status page
you can see almost all server have spikes/flat lines
this is due to routing by tmnet to uk that is dead/timed out

Owh ok, thanks for the precious info, anyway does this problem Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: packet HMAC authentication failed or read UDPv4: Net dropped connection or reset (WSAENETRESET) (code=10052) will lead to any error on file receive/transmit or there's nothing to be worry? Just a connection right?

Thank you  :o

I would like to *request a guideline from the admin or anybody expert here that have a free time to publish it in the Installation Support regarding how to handle Azureus and Open VPN with the Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 security option from scratch. Perhaps it will help so many newbies here or the future customers too.

Thank you

Note *: If you have free time only .. don't get angry and put this thing inside the clarification of cheapo customer ya ..  :P
