Last week, I notice no matter how I reconnect, I am stuck with IP 175, since then, my download speed is slow in most site, I cant access IPT without bolehroute and worst of all, I dont know how to complain to TMNET regarding changing my ip to 60 or 124...
Any ideas how to request to change without giving too much info on my p2p?
Cheers bro

Are you a 4mbps user? I can't remember, :p. 4 mbps users have their own IP range, 212.xxx if I'm not mistaken, just ask to be transferred to that IP range.
I guess the best thing would be to just call them up and say, I've been undergoing slow net speeds since x, I've also noticed that I've been stuck with this IP range, could you refresh my port / help me get a new IP (emphasis on your already having restarted modem / disconnected reconnected multiple times).
If that doesn't work, ask for a tech to be sent out, you might have more luck asking him directly.
-
thanks for replying,
i am currently on 1mb package and already ask them restart my port once because of msn unable to connect
now, i am lack of ideas how to ask to change ip, because if i were to say its slower, they will definately need a website or references on proof what is slow
what luck i have :(
-
Uhhh, you don't need proof for the help line, just say that all browsing is slow, downloading updates is slow. Unless you want to show the tech that your speed really IS slow. Then you should probably queue up several torrent/http downloads, turn off the speed limiter, and run a speedtest.
Remember: Call centre workers just want to get your call over with, they'll do stuff like port refreshes and all if you just ask. A personal note, you might want to get their names as well, incase you feel like lodging complaints against certain call centre staff.

thanks for the tips wolffeh,
will try it out tomorrow
since now my ipt also down, even with bolehroute..... line getting weirder by the day.....
-
sorry for the late update, as was busy lately
just called tmnet, and was told they cant assist me in this issue
even told me restart modem when i already said restarted million of times
sigh...... just emailed to md@tm.net.my
hope i can get an answer....
-
Who's md@tm.net.my? If I'm not mistaken, the official email address for customer complaints / help is help@tm.net.my You can also try filling in a form here http://www.tm.com.my/contact-us/Pages/internet.aspx or emailing what might be the ceo, ceo@tmnet.com.my
Also, just out of curiosity, could you visit http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and tell me if that IP range is infact a proper IP range, and not a TM inflicted proxy?
-
Your IP address is 175.144.60.96
paiseh, thought it was MD, okay, will proceed to forward to ceo@tmnet.com.my
thanks
-
Yep. I'm on that ip 175 range as well. IPT is blocked. Have to use bolehroute to view. Restarting doesnt help, it stickied to this IP range.
Kinda annoying switching back forth to private tracker and bolehroute during brownsing/downloading torrent.

Try to CC your email to newspapers and consumer associations also. That seems to work for me :P
-
Could you try proxying your browser through our servers, (Foxyproxy, for Firefox), if you'd rather use the Public/Privatetracker servers instead of switching to Broute to access IPT? Our Firefox proxy guide can be found here http://www.bolehvpn.net/forum/index.php/topic,1750.0.html

section 9 peon - can u assist me which newspaper and consumer email address i can email to? thanks alot :)

E-mail:
Found this in my old post!
custcare[at]tm.net.my (the worst response ever)
streamyx[at]tm.net.my (basically you will get replied by this)
ceo[at]tmnet.com.my (fastest yet the best)
gmmarketing[at]tmnet.com.my (Still workable...)
E-mail to MCMC and National Consumer Affairs only if the above e-mails failed.

Spoonkin, I stay nearby as well.
Chris, i tried the foxyproxy solution when i'm on the private/public tracker. But no go. Is the proxy address 10.10.10.1:1080 and using SOCKS 4/4a?
-
iirc port 808 for foxy proxy
-
Ok. Tried both 808 and port 1080. Cant even load google.com with either. On private tracker OpenVPN connection, using Vista.
Turn off proxy i'm fine but can't load IPT as usual.
-
Port can be 1080, if you've ticked the Socks proxy box. Alternatively, 808 if you haven't checked the Socks proxy box.
-
I've tried ticked Socks using port 1080 or port 808. No go. But unticked it and using port 808, it works. The setting works for Google Chrome as well but must use port 808.
-
Chris,
emailed to all the telekom personnel from your post
just worried now if they somehow counter my problem and make a big issue claim i am doing all the p2p download.....
-
poop, i have been stuck in the 175.x.x.x range for 3 days now. one of the sites that i can't get into is www.play-asia.com :(
well, i just spent a good 30 minutes or so on the phone with their customer support explaining the problem. As usual, they're oblivious (or is it just a ruse? i wonder...) anyway, they logged the issue and said they'd get their tech team to look into it. let's all cross fingers and hope that they actually attempt to fix this.
perhaps more of us should call up and complain.
-
Guys, the 175.xx ip can now access IPTorrents. Tried it out on Firefox without proxy and it works.
-
yes eddie, i also just found out.
but my usual jap torrent still slow :(
-
sigh
it happens again
ip175 unable to view iptorrents again
needs bolehroute to view :(
so darn annoying, stupid telekom
-
You might just want to try refreshing your dns or using google dns.
-
Spoonkin's right. The mystery of the 175.x returns. Reuben, I've tried all your suggestions. No, this one is for the birds, man. Hahaha
You just gotta laugh. I'm just trying to understand how is it a particular IP cannot access very limited sites. i mean, what can cause that? So I'll trick myself into thinking this is amusing.
-
eddie, i love tmnet, they always manage to do something silly to annoy u :-[
-
yeay. this problem is back again for me. on ip 175 , same drill. have to use bolehroute. cant get the firefox foxyproxy watchamacallit to work. not dumb-proof enuf for me.
-
suddenly, tmnet heard my plea, i can access iptorrents again,
its like they playing games with me :(
-
not sure if its my luck, suddenly i am reconnected to 115, now able to connect to every site i had problems before
glad the problems werent permanent, now hope i dont get dc !
-
currrently 115 ip is the worse, especially at night. ping times are high and packet loss also high.
