I did a quick research and I think TeamGroup Supreme USB 16GB is value for money. Here's a short take of various high performance USB thumbdrives as cheapest price locally.
Sandisk 16GB Contour - RM259 - This is Sandisk top range.
25 MB/sec read, 18 MB/sec write speeds*
Flash Voyager GT USB Drive 16GB - RM260 Pre-Order - This is the fastest USB drives that I can find but no one is keeping stock and I read somewhere that Corsair is not pushing this product due to a lot of RMA.
34MB/s read 28MB/s write speed
Corsair Survivor - Alternative to Voyager, pricier, uglier and slower, if you guys are in the business of Indiana Jones adventures type, then this is the one.
Survivor 16GB - RM300
Read 24MB/sec ; Write:18MB/sec
TeamGroup Supreme 16GB - RM200
Read: 33MB/Sec ; Write: 21MB/Sec
All the above are high-end or high pweformance USB that should be performing 3 or 4 times faster than those USB flash hanging at the retail counters selling at less than RM100. Performance of flash drive is based the read and write data to the flash drive AND not the data transferred speed of the USB bus, which is normally referred to as High Speed USB or USB 2.0. All modern flash drives are High Speed USB 2.0 but not all are high performance.
At 33MB/sec, you will probably be reading at a faster rate than some notebook hdd and definitely great for storing and playing video direct from the USB.
It is in gold color and should be in my possession by Tuesday morning.
