kaspersky is god damn popular... especially in china, all my net friends are crazy about it (valid key to update... kekeke)

i use nod32 since 2.7 (yey, slim and effective), they have 4.0 now, not yet tried.... and i ditched symantec long time ago, too bulky.....

if you want legal and cheap antivirus (in malaysia), go and get kaspersky
only RM30 per license for 1 year

nod32 also good one
now using v4 and no problem at all

my personal experience was... kaspersky 7 was great(last year version) ..but kaspersky 8 or KIS2009 (the current one) is not. making my system slower to boot. slower scanning.. bad update server connection...

on the other hand, I run a free trial of Norton 2009 on my other computer and I was good... seriously... better... than its previous version by alot. somehow like norton finally notice it. Norton not cheap... but more the most expensive one >.>

AVG dont bother even the pay version sux

Last time, I found a big cheat that AOL user can get free Mcafee Antivirus

I used to use AVG Free, but version 8 is buggy as hell, so I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

I have Comodo, which is also free, installed on my Windows XP now.

I've tried NOD32 and kapersky. Have been using nod32 and am sticking with it. Good detection rate and low system resource usage.

I have been using Symantec and never face any problem. It is a lot better then Norton but it is expensive.

adam7979 is correct. I am using Symantec End Point which is corporate edition with minimum purchase of 5 units. Norton is for home users which will take more resources and sometime causing games problem for some games.

I used to be on Symantec Corporate for our firm of about 30-40 computers.

Virus attacked and it didn't stop it at all.

Switched to Kaspersky and never had a virus attack since (many detected tho!)

i cant deny kaspersky still has the best detection rate compare to some other X brands. but it become abit over sensitive and the lastest version has become annoying to use compare to the previous version.

looking around the net and forums, i think the top two are kaspersky and nod32..is there any kaspersky free version i can download? have to wait another few weeks before buying the original..

heard that in 1-2 days, the internet is expecting a massive virus/worm attack..are the mentioned anti-virus/internet security software will be good enough to fend off such problems?

Funny, I'm using Norton Internet Sec 2009 and it works like a charm. Low false positives and at RM120 for 3 licenses for 1 year, I got one for myself, my girl and her sister. Won a lot brownie points for giving them a antivirus that needs 1 minute to install and forget.

Don't ever try 2 antivirus on one PC. Your PC will crash or stuck at any time.

to those who use KAV, what you guys do when it expires? Renew it online or just buy a new one and re-install it? or just keep on using it?

i think so far kav/kis is the best... low resources... only rm85 for 3 licenses... detects lots of virus than others...

when it expires... i'm not sure what to do next... maybe i'll search for free one... and save that money for vpn renewal.... ;)
