other than Dlink?

The Linksys ones are ok but a lot of them require firmware upgrades to be good...

I'm not sure what you have against DLink as i have been using them with no issues whatsoever.

it just that d-link take 2 long 2 get dsl stable sometime almost minute.
streamyx zte will get dsl stable signal in few second.

I use a Belkin. It can melt some cheese while you wait for your torrents to be completed. Hence, i got some RM15 notepad cooler for it.

Despite some heaty issues, i think it is pretty good.

I tested a Level One adsl router earlier this year for a couple of months. Never had a single connection issue. To this day I regret that my friend didn't sell it to me. :(

To those who are recommending aztech modems, specifically the dsl600e, you guys must be the lucky ones. I've NEVER had any good luck with that particular modem (slow interface, overheats easily). The 900e(b)2 on the other hand, though old and outdated, works like a charm.

I have never updated my Aztech modem's firmware and I still get very good speed on it.

I have heard the zte zxdsl modems have problems concerning p2p like your modem always hang. It's better if you go get another modem like Aztech and throw that zte modem away!

Yeah used the ZTE until it died, was a good servant. I got an Aztech Wifi version, was crap, forgot the model but wouldn't sync with the TM hardware exchange (but on the sticker said TM certified). Using Linksys now and so far so good, just needs firmware updates and a bunch of tweaking for the MTU and its good to go.

i agree. in router mode it always hang. when first subscribed VPN, it was in router mode, speed was excellent for around 5-10 mins but goes back to 0kBps soon after. Can't even surf the web. The only solution for zte modem is set it to modem mode. right now, it works perfectly.

When night all sleep , very quiet , I hear my modem 'shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' no stop.

So want to ask all modem also the same ? or tmnet free modem only got that 'shhhhhhhhhhhhhh' sound ?

I find that the new Aztech DSL605E perform quite good.

I am having stability issue with this new version of modem. can you teach me how to setup the QoS so web can be the priority.

-------------------
@TS

I am a Dlink user here. Yes Dlink sucks, but if you are willing to flash it. Can be rock solid. The model I am using is DSL504T.
I have 3 modems. Telekom zte, dlink and dsl605e. These 3 can sync at different speed.

If you already have a router, you should not be worried about it.
Most brand works perfectly if you have a router.
Unless you using the modem as router mode, that might choke the line.

Im using Aztech 605E modem with Linksys WRT54GS router.
