Can BolehVPN be used on iPad to view iPlayer?

Am I able to use BolehVPN to access the UK VPN server so that I can watch BBC programs on iPlayer?

Has anyone does it before? I've already purchased a trial account to try this out.

i tried setting up the vpn as per installation instructions but the bbc iplayer website and the app says i m not in the UK even when the VPN is on.

any special settings to connect to the UK VPN?

Which connection were u connected to? Could you show me the log?

Hi Reuben,

I checked the IP and it says I'm using a California IP address. I just set up the VPN using the instructions found on http://www.bolehvpn.net/pptp.php#idevices cause that's the one I found for iPad.

If there is another set of instructions, could you kindly direct me to it? My 3 days trial is running out soon!

Yeap we're working on tightening up. The common login is just a stop gap solution.

I too followed the instructions on this page http://www.bolehvpn.net/pptp.html but it does not work. Authentication just fails. Is there a solution for UK streaming as I'd like to use iPlayer too. Otherwise, I'll have to look for another solution.

Make sure you're connecting to pptp.bolehvpn.net

We don't have a UK PPTP server just yet, we're looking into getting one running soon.

The UK server has been ordered already and we are awaiting for delivery. Btw for iPad there may be some internal restriction within the iPad that reports which region it is from. In such a case it won't bypass it even with the correct IP. Just noted that some people still couldn't get it to work on some apps.

might be alright. I tried connecting to pptp.bolehvpn.net and got a US IP. It allowed me to view shows using the NBC app, so it could detect and allow the app to go through.

waiting for the UK server as well. Once that works out, will definitely order a longer term service

Well I don't use it on an ipdad, but I use the iplayer on my computer, so it shouldn't matter, it's just a different protocol is all on the ipad...
