Newbie - inquiries before trying VPN services.

First off, i'd like to thank Bvpn for them awesome game servers.  ;D

I'd need some clarification for this whole VPN thing. I dont really get it - does it benefit torrent users or even for direct download users? Im mainly an RS user, and im rather fed up with me getting about 1/3 download speed compared to friends from other areas. Not keen on using torrent as im mainly getting 2-10 kbps even with well seeded torrents.

I've ran that test thingy posted in your FAQ, and i came up with this:

One more thing, i'm using a router, and i share this connection mainly with my sister (who is a YouTube buff, barely downloads anything else) and my dad (who only uses at night, for some trade thingy - will getting vpn affect him?). How does your service work with routers?

Unfortunately, VPN does not affect direct download like RS. The only way around this is still getting a good Streamyx ip range which is dealt with in our faqs.

However the reason why you are getting 2-10 kB/sec on torrents is because of the throttle which is what we specialize on removing. That's one of the main reasons people subscribe to our service is to remove this throttle.

The ping result you got could be better but is within acceptable levels.

Using a VPN will not affect your other users as it works on the computer level.

This is of course unless you're maxing out your upload and download then of course it would slow down the other users of the internet connection. This has nothing to do with the VPN but just pure mathematics that if you don't leave any bandwidth left for anybody else, of course they will experience slow speeds. Conservative upload and download caps from within your torrent client should minimize this.
