Am I actually connected through Boleh?
« on: January 12, 2012, 04:58:11 AM »
I don't think my programs are actually running through Boleh.  Although boleh says I'm fully connected there are a couple of reasons I'm not so sure.

1.  In windows under "Network and Sharing Center", it has the connection having local but no internet connection.  Admittedly I'm uncertain if that is just how vpn's show up there.

2. I tried configuring Comodo firewall as per the specs on this site and any program I have use those rules will not go through.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong.  Thanks for any help you can give.

1. Could you please post up a picture showing window's network connections?

2. I tried configuring comodo firewall too (I take it you tried the the comodo configuration offered here    http://www.bolehvpn.net/forum/index.php/topic,6621.0.html

I tried that too but i dont think it works with open vpn or if your pc is behind a router. Believe me i tried to set up comodo firewall that way too but is dosent work for me too.

Thanks for the reply. Okay so when I remove Comodo the programs work again, but I don't know if they are running through the vpn or not.  Here's a screenshot of the "Network and Sharing Center."  the unidentified network is Boleh.

Yes, that's how the VPN connection will show up in your Network and Sharing centre, Local with no internet connection.

Did you try connecting to the FullyRouted-All? I don't think the settings I posted for Comodo will work with the Proxied servers. If you did, could you post your log?

Thank you for letting me know that that is how a vpn is supposed to look.  I have been using FullyRouted-All.  I know its a stupid question, but just so I'm clear what type of logs are you looking for?  Under firewall events in Comodo it says "there are no events to show" despite ticking the boxes that are indicated in the instructions.  That part really confuses me.  I've tried applying the rule with both Chrome and utorrent and when the rule is applied they refuse to connect to the internet.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Also since D43B35 mentioned it, I am having to access via a Router.  Could that be the problem?

Could you screenshot your Firewall rules and application rules?

By logs I mean your BolehVPN-Gui logs, open it up, click on the Log tab, click Copy and paste into your reply.

Okay.  Is this everything you wanted.  I don't know if its worth noting but I added a record event to blocked events to see what happened.  It kept showing my routers IP address as the source address.  I don't know if that's relevant.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Here's the most recent log from Boleh:

Looks like BolehVPN-Gui wasn't run properly as admin. You'll need to visit the BolehVPN installation folder, right click BolehVPN-Gui.exe, select Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab, then tick Run as Admin at the bottom. Do this for OpenVPN.exe and OpenVPN-Gui.exe as well
