Vuze 4.0/Azureus Installation Instructions
« on: April 06, 2007, 02:15:00 PM »
Please ensure you have completed the OpenVPN installation first.

a) In Vuze/Azureus, go to Tools/Options/Mode. Make sure Advanced is checked. Click Apply.

b) Now go to Connection/Proxy Options and set the following exactly as in the picture below

****Make sure 'Inform tracker of limitation' is NOT checked!!!****

c) Options/Transfer and set the following exactly as in the picture below

Please do not set more than 300 global connections. Failure to do so might result in a ban. If you don't know what you are doing just follow the settings below.

d) Press Save to save all your settings and RESTART AZUREUS

e) To test if your settings are correct, download this .

Give it a few minutes to pick up. You should be seeing speeds around 80% or more of your max speed.

f) Please remember that VPN performance is variable when downloading local torrents.

It might slow down your performance and affect your downloading/seeding. Lately, it seems however that the VPN does help local torrents though we are unsure why it does so. It is also recommended not to run more than 3 torrent downloads at a time. This is not due to our VPN's limitation but more of Streamyx's upload speed limitation.

g) Enjoy the Speed! Here is a screenshot of me downloading ubuntu using a 1mbit connection using Azureus.

h) If you are experiencing slow speeds, please refer here and perform the necessary steps before submitting a tech support request.
