Fully Routed- Luxembourg
« on: May 24, 2014, 02:16:29 PM »
Hi, when I connect to the Fully Routed Luxembourg server using Bolehvpn client on my Mac, and then do a DNS Leak test a USA DNS server is found, doing the same test but connecting using Viscosity the DNS server is from Luxembourg, why the difference?

Thanks in Advance for your answers.

Hi there,

Could you let us know what DNS server is shown? Is it one USA DNS and one Lux / Germany DNS server?

MIght be a backup DNS. Send me the logs and I'll check the server in question.

Hi Chris this is the server that is listed, I just did another DNS Leak Test.

Bolehvpn Client Mac          208.69.36.15    m5.chi.opendns.com    OpenDNS, LLC    United States

Viscosity Mac Client           78.138.97.33    ns3.ezdns.it    MESH GmbH    Germany

That is the DNS servers that are showing in the tests...

I also sent you the Log from the Client as requested

Thanks again...

Yup, we use OpenDNS as our backup DNS server. Is this an issue for you? The server should be providing you both OpenNIC and OpenDNS to use.

Thanks Chris, I guess there is no issue here, I'll just use that server through Viscosity.

one thing I t noticed, when I get the Opennic 62.141.38.230 sinetimes there is no dns resolution. Just putting nslookup helps. No a bad thing but....

Well... we're between a rock and a hard place really. OpenNIC is something that we feel provides a good deal of privacy and security, which is quite important for our users. However, like in this case, it may not necessarily be as fast or reliable as something like Google's DNS. But then again, some of our users question the privacy policy of Google's DNS.
