Bandwidth monitor
« on: May 11, 2015, 04:41:39 PM »
My router does bandwidth monitoring but it seems awfully high to me so I decided to go looking for an application to run on the local machine that I use. I do the most downloading of videos and software applications.  This I know, but not nearly as much as the router is telling me. I have a feeling its telling me the total bandwidth of all lan traffic as well as internet traffic from all (30 devices off and on) equipment. I just want to know from one machine. Mine.

So I did some hunting and found this BitMeterOS (http://codebox.org.uk/pages/bitmeteros).
Works on Windows, linux, OSX. The latest beta supposedly can differentiate between lan and internet usage. Limits can be set, time/date/or month ranges can be set. Includes rss feed, graphs, alerts, query function, and a calculator.

And its freeware.... :)
