Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC)
« on: March 20, 2012, 10:23:51 AM »
As stated by Wikipedia;

The Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is a suite of Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) specifications for securing certain kinds of information provided by the Domain Name System (DNS) as used on Internet Protocol (IP) networks. It is a set of extensions to DNS which provide to DNS clients (resolvers) origin authentication of DNS data, authenticated denial of existence, and data integrity, but not availability or confidentiality.

This is really great stuff for those concerned about their security and safety. Protecting the DNS side of things is important.

Dnssec-trigger is a tool to help provide DNS protection;

The developers have told me it's still in the early stages and I've been playing around with it in Linux, not Windows and have seen good results...

NLNet Labs is a really respectable company and I'd encourage those that are into security to stay on top of this and follow this project.

Cheers ;)
