Can't connect to bolehroute
« on: November 21, 2010, 04:35:07 AM »
Hi everyone,

Extremely sorry if this is an old topic, but I've searched and looked at freq asked q's, and I'm just terribly frustrated at this point and need to put the question to the community because I haven't found answers yet.

Connection worked great until suddenly, when these errors began:

[server] Inactivity timeout (--ping restart), restarting
SIGUSR1 [soft, ping-restart] received, process restarting
NOTE: OpenVPN 2.1 requires '--script-security 2' or higher to call user-defined scripts or executables
Re-using SSL/TLS context
UDPv4 link local: [undef]
UDPv4 link remote: 94.48.112.68:1194

This repeats, of course.

Like I said, I'm real sorry if I'm being impolite, but I just don't know where to go from here, and I thought I saw something on a thread that said the West coast might actually be down for an indeterminate amount of time.

I've put my monthly user file in the config directory like usual, but I haven't changed any passwords or anything else, and I have a feeling there's something small that I've somehow neglected.

Thanks in advance for your help,

-S

We are looking into this now. Please use other servers.
The server you are connecting is geronimo. Please refer to the status.bolehvpn.net for the servers network activity.

Thank you

OK, thanks for the prompt reply.

I can't seem to connect to Canada-SurfingStreaming, PrivateTracker, PublicTracker, TCP443Server, or US-SurfingStreaming, either.  I feel like it must be a local problem, but I'm absolutely terrible with networking.  It's amazing I can configure my router properly.

As far as using the other BolehRoute servers, I'm also ignorant as to how I can change the server from Geronimo to Cochise or whichever.

Sorry for the annoyance.

Geronimo is now connectible as tested with our connection and so are the rest of the servers.
Please attach your openvpn log file whenever you fail to connect so that we can identify which server or configuration is being used.

Thank you

Hrm are you an old customer? The new ones should have 443 port in it and not 1194

Just wondering, are you using the keys sent on the 13 November 2010 which was delivered to your gmail?

Make sure you extract botheyesshut.crt and botheyesshut.key to your desktop then copy them into your C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config folder.

If the problem still persists we'll do a TeamViewer.

Dear Reuben,

Got your re-sent keys in my email, copied them like usual into my config folder, but this time without the other files, just the crt and key files as you instructed.

It's working!  Thank you so much!  Best support ever.

Cheers, Reuben.
