I have gone back to using uTorrent 2.0.4!
2.2 was quite a disappointment.

I get the freeze immediately upon starting it up. Oh well, 2.0.4 isn't so bad.

2.2 beta build 24567 seems ok, no problems for past hour or so. I'll update if a problem crops up.

Oh well . Anyway, no problems at all so far.

Note, you have to enable the new security features if you are going from 2.04 to 2.2 directly.

Running overnight, over 12 hours with full speed (~160KB/s) without any issue, now I can say this latest beta really fixed that proxy problem.
I haven turn on the Proxy Privacy features as yet for the pass test, turned on now to see what'll happen, continue full speed test.

For the information I did an upgrade like I usually did, keeping every settings, files intact by just replacing the EXE, so far no problem, so it's safe to do a direct upgrade rather than start fresh new.

I just updated from 1.85 to 2.21 B24796 and it hanged all the time besides using up 50% of my memory and slowing my computer.
Am going back to tried and tested old 1.85

hd-torrents tracker wont allow the new 2.2 utorrent. forgot to copy what it said at the tracker tab but it sounded something like 'i'm sorry, we do not allow utorrent version 2.2 blablabla..' got this error some days ago and im now back to 1.85.

Did you update from within 1.85 or completely remove/uninstall 1.85 before installing the new 2.21 beta 24769 ?

If memory serves, I saw an earlier post which recommends complete removal of any previous version before installing the beta 2.21 anew.

I did just that, removed 2.04 and 2.21 beta is running fine.

We always recommend removing one version first, ticking 'Delete saved settings' when uninstalling, before installing a new version. This helps prevent conflicts and so on.

thanks maxbudin and Chris. I did not see the earlier post and updated my ver 1.85.
Now uninstalled the old version and reinstalled the beta version. Seems to be running smoothly for the past 3 hours.
