Two Announcements from TM: None of them Good

1st Announcement:

SERVICE INTERRUPTION

Dear Valued Customers,

We wish to inform our Streamyx customers that Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) will be performing a network upgrading exercise from 11.00 pm, Tuesday, 7th April 2009 until 6.00 am, Wednesday, 8th April 2009.

As a result, Streamyx customers in Kuala Pauh, Kuala Lumpur may experience a disruption of service during the stipulated period. We would like to assure you that the service would resume to normal after this period.

TM apologizes for any inconvenience caused whilst the same time, we would like to assure you that we are upgrading our network to enable us to serve you better.

Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Streamyx related problems.

2nd Announcement:

SERVICE INTERRUPTION

Dear Valued Customers,

Referring to our earlier statement on 31 March 2009 on the disruption of our Internet services due to circuit faults on the Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 3 (SMW3) cable network between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there is a delay in the restoration of Internet services due to technical problems at the repairing stages.

Due to the delay, full recovery of Internet services is now expected to be on 9 April 2009.

Customers using Internet services may continue to experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the US and Hong Kong. In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the US and Hong Kong may also experience some service degradation. To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been directed to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible.

Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems.

    another “problem”……i don’t understand how the tmnut handle the situation. if i HAVE the power, i will curse down the ceo cos

    he not doin his job……….this is really not excusable anymore….i will submit complain to Suruhanjaya Komunikasi or Prime

    Minister if the event or situation not improved….

    it seems that today that my Internet connection/speed are back to how it’s used to be although there is no official statement about the repairs completed or not from streamyx yet..

    download file from utorrent still crappy…….

    i don’t think it’s undersea cable problem but i guess they cap our bandwith……

    even use of vpn also cannot increase download speed…….

    It’s was fine yesterday. Today speed back to 10-20 kbs

    My download speed is SUX big time. Only can received +/- 20kb only :((

    well, it seems there still no news yet from streamyx about the problem fixed or not but the downloading speed from mIRC and Utorrent i got yesterday and today was marvelous..average from 130kb/s and sometimes reached 190 (on 1mb package here)..so yeah, i assumed the problem have been taken care already..^_^..
