TM clarifies the purpose of their upgrade

Sounds promising, but let’s keep our fingers crossed:


Dear Valued Customers,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to inform its customers that it is migrating its existing core network to the latest network technology to facilitate the ongoing improvements of our network performance and service quality. The migration will allow TM to provide a more integrated service proposition to support a large ecosystem of applications.

The infrastructure migration will take place in two stages on the following dates and time-periods:

1. Friday, 12 June 2009, 11 pm till Saturday, 13 June 2009, 6 am
2. Friday, 19 June 2009, 11 pm till Saturday, 20 June 2009, 6 am

Therefore, all our Internet and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) such as iTalk and Home Prepaid customers nationwide may experience a disruption of service during the stipulated period. We would like to assure our customers that the services would resume to normal after this period.

TM apologizes for any inconvenience caused whilst at the same time, we would like to assure you that we are upgrading our network to enable us to provide you with the best in the next- generation network (NGN) services.

    Fancily-worded, but in actuality, just another excuse to shovel more shit into the disbelieving (and therefore gaping) mouths of TM’s hapless customers. Gargantuan fail.

    Annual upgrading exercises, so they call it and it is happening now. Cannot access any websites. This is getting dumb and dumber as each day passes. If it is so good, then why all the upgrading ? Upgrading from which level ? From no good level ? There will be stupid excuses given, like their customers are all morons. And yet the talk of MSC. M for my. S for stupid. C for connectivity. My stupid connectivity.

    Today streamyx fu*k-up again. Speed is just damn slow.
    There seem to be only one IP available.

    Not only that, connection seem to be unstable and frequent disconnected in the middle of the night.
    I called up the streamyx idiot and they telling me everything is fine.
    I ask them to clarify why did the same IP range appeared even i log in and out more than 50 times.
    Yes, believe me more than 50 times. Well I’m kind of free today.
    Their brilliant answer is …. the IP is assign randomly ! WTF ! am I speaking to a monkey at TMNet call centre ?

    I think tomorrow, I should buy a lottery ticket. I will definately strike the millions dollar jackpot.
