Streamyx Acknowledges Websites Issues

Remember when we announced way back on 13 April that the Streamyx site was having problems?

It took Streamyx 4 days to realize their site had problems:

SERVICE INTERRUPTION

Dear Valued Customers,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to inform its customers that our Streamyx website (www.streamyx.com.my) is currently experiencing a disruption of service due to server breakdown. As a result customers are unable to access the website.

Restoration works on the affected system is already in progress and we have migrated the website to another back-up server. We expect the complete recovery of the server by 3.00 p.m. today.

We would like to assure you that you would be able to access the website after this period. TM apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any enquiries about Streamyx.

I am not sure if the undersea cables problem has been restored as I haven’t seen any announcement on this but at least for me, speeds are back to normal.

    Still insanely slow. Downloading from seedbox 1 at 5kb/s as I have the last months. Getting tired of this.

    we must conclude one of the following is truet:

    A) their WHOLE website is under one machine.
    B) their “back-up” computer must be dusted off and greased before it runs.
    C) they have NO spare server anywhere else, and…
    D) their web managers are the most incompetent bunch of people this side of the straight of malacca
    E) their communication dept was installed in the same server

    gosh Streamyx, get your act together dudes.

    Today download f**k up again . Mostly to EU countries. Undersea cable down again ?
    I’m so pissed off until I shouted at the brainless call centre agent.
    TM Net is so full of shit and lies.

    So many times i lost connection then it change back to useless 118 ip range. Even the best 60 ip range can’t even get over 10kb. 115 is reliable right now.
