Funny True Story of the Day

My friend’s boyfriend got really bombarded by her mom.
He had sent her a SMS near midnight in Malay:
“anakmu ketinggalan dalam kereta kawan’
which translated into English means “your child has been left in a friend’s car’
He had missed out the word ‘hand phone’ in his sleepiness.
Now none of the parties involved normally speak Malay. Somehow the boyfriend just decided to be cute that night by texting in bad Malay.
The mom didn’t think much of it at first being tired. She called and texted her daughter, but obviously could not get through as the phone was left in her friend’s car. The mom went to sleep not thinking much of it.
When she woke up early in the morning and saw that her daughter had not replied or called back, she started becoming concerned. She tried calling the boyfriend’s handphone, but the boyfriend thought it was his phone’s alarm (it was set to silent and to vibrate only) and didn’t bother to get it.
So the mom really freaked out as she thought her daughter had been kidnapped by some Malay speaking person. The mom proceeded to call the cops and all her daughter’s KL friends…
She finally got through to the boyfriend’s handphone after her 4th attempt…

What a SCOLDING he got 😀

Luckily the message wasn’t written as
    ‘”anakmu meninggal dalam kereta kawan”.
Else, I guess it will be more than just a SCOLDING…

I don’t get this part: How does the mom get to know that her daughter was kidnapped by ‘some malay speaking person’ when she didn’t even read the SMS (as the phone was left in the friends car)?

Nick: She probably thought the bf’s phone was with the kidnappers since he wrote in Malay which is not typical of him.

  3. Nick says:

I still don’t get it man. The BF is not with the mom, so how did the mom read the bf’s phone?!

  4. Nick says:

Scratch that, I meant the GF – if the GF phone is in a friends car, how’d the mom get to read the Malay SMS?
