New Servers and Configurations Updated

Our server configurations have been updated and we have added a Canada-SurfingStreaming server and a TCP443 server (for firewall bypass).

Installation instructions for these configurations have been updated as well.

You can obtain the latest configuration files by:

  1. Registering for a forum account here (skip this step if you already have a support forum account)
  2. After activating your forum account, login and apply for Support Access. (only if you haven’t done so))
  3. Wait for it to be approved. You will receive an e-mail when this has been done.
  4. Now head on to the BolehVPN Config Files thread while logged on and follow the steps in the first post.

New Canada Surfing Streaming

We had a user that just needed to watch CBC Canada shows and as such had configured a custom configuration for him to have a fully routed Canadian server for surfing/streaming Canadian content. We have now decided to make this available to you at no extra charge. Rules are the same as the US-SurfingStreaming server. This is a server for surfing/streaming and not for P2P/Bittorrent, etc.

All new subscriptions will come with this configuration while existing users can add this configuration by going to our forum here after logging in and having their support access approved.

Alternate Port for BolehVPN

Just to let you know for the more advanced users, all our servers can also run on 443 UDP as well if 1194 UDP is giving you problems.

Would appreciate any feedback on this!

Test Server – Bypassing Firewall

We have activated a new server that is capable of bypassing most firewalls setting. If you can browse to https sites then you have 90% chances of bypassing those firewalls.

Since this a low end test server, we are limiting the server to a maximum 25 users simultaneous connections and only allowing access to private trackers during this test period.

However we must warned you that the performance is not as good as the other servers due to the TCP behavior which requires a very stable connection between the hosts and your desktop. We recommend this server only to those who has no way of getting out using UDP protocol and also to those who are using other ISPs that totally blocked UDP. Penangfon/Sentralfon etc users may benefit from this.

Access to this server is open to ALL PAID subscribers (New and Current). Please give feedbacks on the performance if you are using this successfully.

Please send an email to support[at]bolehvpn.net to request for the configuration file. Slots for this is limited, so hurry up.

Thank you.

Luxembourg Status Update

All servers are operational now. However we have not received any updates why it went offline. Looking at the log, it seems the data center loss power because all servers are restarted.

Other than collosus users, the public trackers servers and boleh route 3, are working properly.

For collosus users, please log in and restart your rtorrent clients.

We apologize for this down time.

Regards

Luxembourg Data Center Offline

As of 8.30am, all servers located in the Luxembourg went offline. I believe this is the data center itself that went offline not our servers. We are currently trying to contact the data center to find out what is happening. However the data center provider’s website is also down.

This is mostly affecting public trackers, bolehroute 3 and colossus users.

Private trackers are all operational.

For public trackers, please use redbaron as alternative server.

We will provide an hourly update via http://twitter.com/bolehvpn.

BolehRoute 1 and Crysis down

During a datacenter upgrade and migration, BolehRoute 1 and Crysis went down. We have contacted our hosts to look into it and see what went wrong.

We will keep you posted on Twitter.

We do not have an ETA on this yet but we don’t forsee this to be a severe issue. Touch wood!

OpenVPN on Jailbroken IPhones/IPods

Many people have asked us to implement PPTP VPNs due to its native support for IPhones/IPods. However we have remained reluctant to do so for administrative and also security issues. It appears now however for those of you with a jailbroken IPhone/IPod, you can try using GuizmOVPN which seems to have a nice GUI for these things.

I haven’t given it a go yet though there seems no reason why it would not work with the BolehRoute or US-SurfingStreaming options!

Anyone who can draw up a guide on this with screenshots will have my gratitude and a free month of VPN! Thanks!

PS: Thanks to Freeman for bringing this to my attention.

Apologies for Live Chat acting a bit weird

Live Chat was supposed to shut down when there was no one around but it appears that it kept its ‘online’ status thus making it seem that we’re ignoring you.

Apologies for this and we are working to fix this error.
