BolehFiles Server being swapped with Gurren

Gurren, a VPN server will be swapped with BolehFiles for economic reasons as BolehFiles is a less used server although it’s more powerful. We will update the IPs when this is complete.

Both servers will be down while this takes place sometime tonight.

Update: Both servers have retained their original configurations but BolehFiles is now opened up to VPN access as well due to low utilization.

BolehFiles Launched at a gobsmacking price of RM10.00 a month for CURRENT BolehVPN full subscribers

We have now officially launched BolehFiles, an add-on service to BolehVPN that will help you use Rapidshare/Hotfile/Megaupload at faster speeds! Great for those rare files that aren’t seeded!

To order, just make payment to the same bank accounts or Paypal and specify that your desired username and password. The rate is RM10.00/month. Please note that you cannot subscribe for a period longer than your VPN subscription (though we can allow small extensions to take into account that the expiry of your VPN account may not be exactly synced).

This service is also only open to subscribers of 30 days and above (non trial users). The reason for this is that BolehFiles is currently not making a profit and will not be for the forseeable future due to the hardware and premium accounts needed to support such a system.

We also accept Rapidshare Premium accounts as payment to be used with BolehFiles in which we will not charge you a cent :D .

Please note that Rapidshare downloads should be used sparingly and only if there is NO ALTERNATIVE due to the premium quota limit. IPT should still be your first point of call!

Vision for BolehFiles and Seeking Comments

I see BolehFiles as a supplementary service to BolehVPN where I do not seek to make a profit for this. As long as I can cover server costs, I would be happy to host this for BolehVPN subscribers.

The way I see it, popular files are already available through VPN/IPT. There’s no reason to use Megaupload/Rapidshare for these files. It’s only those rare files where you can’t get them should someone turn to these HTTP download services.

Why do I think this?

  1. It’s a pain to search for RapidShare/Megaupload links. Often dead links. With torrents there’s a certainty especially with private trackers. You know whether it’s seeded or not straight away.
  2. You tend to need a Premium account to several of these file sites which adds a lot of cost.
  3. It seems that TM actively throttles or deprioritizes these sites and HTTP/FTP connections are heavily affected when routing is sub-par.

As such I still see BolehVPN + IPT as the main source of files with BolehFiles performing a supplementary role for rare/poorly seeded files.

Do you agree? Post your comments!

BolehFiles Development resumed

We are resuming development of this after a brief hiatus (we were looking at BolehSurf and also were responding to the feedback we received from you guys!)

We will be adding another 3 Rapidshare Premium accounts to this to allow for more bandwidth usage.

We will also be renewing Megaupload as well and Hotfile.

Apologies for not being able to reply to you guys sooner as we had a lot of things on our plate (the reason for this will become clear in the next 1-2 months) :P

BolehFiles – Rapidshare, Megaupload, HotFiles almost Ready for Primetime

We have been testing our BolehFiles for some time and have been dissatisfied with the way it worked…UNTIL NOW.

For those of you not in the loop, basically BolehFiles aggregates premium accounts for these services and lets you download it to our server without any wait times. For Rapidshare, this is still limited by a data cap limit (as is their policy with their premium accoutns) but other file sharing sites are not similarly restricted (Megaupload, Hotfiles both work fine). So instead of paying tons for multiple premium accounts, you get to enjoy all these accounts at a cheaper price (tentative RM15.00-RM20.00 a month for existing BolehVPN users). Another added benefit is that it will also bypass any restriction on Rapidshare download speed imposed by your ISP as you will be downloading from OUR server not Rapidshare.

Hrm..that is a mouthful, let me put this in simpler words:

IF YOU USE RAPIDSHARE, MEGAUPLOAD, HOTFILES, BOLEHFILES IMPROVES YOUR SPEED AND EXPERIENCE!

We believe it’s now ready for commercial use but wish to let it go under some load before we charge people for it. We thank all our testers up to now who have put up with so many kinks in the system.

We will now be genuinly putting BolehFiles through its paces and having individual user accounts for it. We will be creating this sometime tonight. For those of you who submitted (yes I know some of you submitted months back), the general login will be disabled and you will receive your login details.

If you are interested in participating, you can read more here.

BolehFiles Interested User List

Update: We now have Rapidshare Premium and Hotfile Premium account on our server. We are planning to add Megaupload soon.

We have gotten a basic setup running which seems to be stable enough for production. We will test this a bit more and then go into production maybe about 1-2 weeks from now tentatively if there are no major issues.

We are now seeking users to who wish to express their interest in adding this service to their subscriptions for an additional RM15.00 a month. Our competitor charges RM25 a month for such a service. Trust me, I’m not making much from this if anything at all and the costs is just to cover our server expenses and the premium account we’ll be linking to the service. This is the pricing at this point in time which may change later (whether higher or lower). We merely want to make sure we continue to be a complete solutions provider for the home downloader!

You can express your interest in taking part in such a service here. If we can get about 20 users, we’ll launch the service.

For those of you not in the loop, BolehFiles gives you access to many download sites such as Rapidshare, Megaupload and Depositfiles. It’s a great complement for VPN users who cannot find some of their files from torrents especially older ones. One of the main advantages of using our service is that you get to use a premium account without having to shell out for one and also allows you to download files in a more leisurely manner and without having to go through the loopholes to get your file. You also get to download other people’s files as well.

BolehFiles Closed Beta (For BolehVPN subscribers only)

We are now testing BolehFiles, a service to assist you to download Rapidshare, Megaupload, Depositfiles, Youtube etc etc.

We have been receiving requests to implement this but frankly, I’m not quite sure what it’s all about so this is where YOU come in! Especially you buggers who were going ‘WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS’!

For full details, ensure you are logged into the Support Forum (and have had your access approved) and visit here. You will be given login details.

Please note that this Beta is for you to TEST and GIVE FEEDBACK. If there is no feedback received, we’ll just close the beta and discontinue the service so if you really want to see this as part of our range of services, we need to hear your voice!

Thanks!
