Suspected Streamyx Problem
We are noticing a good deal of users in West Malaysia experiencing speed degradations. East Malaysia does not seem to be as affected.

yup…called up streamyx and they said it was due to the torrential rain back weeks ago and they are trying to fix it. but i suspect it might be due to the iskandar high speed broadband testing going on which affected skudai area. Even those having fix ip connection also experiencing slow connection.

I am having problems with streamyx connecting to rapidshare. Instead of 150k/s i am getting less than 1. Have rung them but so far no results. They said they would reset my port – really they do not listen. i told them that i get the same problem at a friends computer who also uses streamyx. Also when i used yet another friends celcom account the connection was fine. It is definately a streamyx problem – now if i only knew how to convince them of this:-(

I live in bandar tun razak, since streamyx started throttling p2p i have use rapidshare premium account as a medium to download, but since last week speed has drastically drop to 10kBps,i have test with different PC with same connection all fail, changing ip also won;t work.I tried download from my office which is tm fixed ip and it work also at my hometown in Penang also are not effected yet.I believe TM have started to capping bandwidth from rapidshare slowly starting in Klang Valley area.Have anyone having same problem as i am?

My internet connection died 2 days ago, period. Left the house in the afternoon, went home at 9-ish and I couldn’t connect to Streamyx. Router DSL light was still green and stable.
Called TM in the morning, tech support wanted to go through same useless troubleshooting, so I said skip it and head straight to resetting my port (which fixes the problem most of the time). Still doesn’t work, called back 10 minutes later, got another guy who finally admitted it might be a problem with the port itself, so he makes a report and asks me to wait a couple of days for the technician to check it.
Somewhere later in the evening, my DSL light goes bye bye too and now its blinking. Despair sets in, and I have two college assigments still due.

I’m from Kedah. Two days my internet become better, but i can’t download from rapidshare. I’m agree with you guys, that TM throttling rapidshare.
November 17th, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Hi guys,
Im facing same problem. My download rate from rapidshare decreased rapidly from 400kbps to 10kbps. Only 2 things in my mind right now. Either tmnet start capping rapidshare or they have problem with underground cable what so ever. I tried vpn to server in amsterdam and download rate from rapidshare is fast.
November 17th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
I will do 1 test tonight to confirm if tmnet banned rapidshare or not. I will post the result soonest.

I got the same problem in slow and unstable speed in Penang. I registered for 1m but my line only 0.23kb or something. I just phoned to TM, I was informed that the line unstable because they are upgrading. What the fuckkkkk upgrading all the time, but never getting better…If really upgrading why the TM does not inform people or publish in newspaper….just keep quite there…pakai otak sama lah…tiap2 bulan kita kena bayar cost renting ni..
November 20th, 2009 at 3:11 pm

December 8th, 2009 at 5:59 pm
It’s time that we unite together and boycott TMnet, cancel our subscription and stop paying our fees as they breach contract by not providing us a minimum service, see how fast things would improve !
Next would be Astro’s turn, cancell and boycot, they are charging us ridiculous monthly rates for watching commercials already paid by the brand owners, they should be paying us for wasting our time.
Astro as ridiculous as TMnet ………… but Malaysia Boleh, and nothing will change !

@Reuben, No TV or Internet for a while is not so bad, spend time with friends is much better.
You will indeed miss a whole bunch of advertisement’s, internet through 2g 3g is still doable.
You have to sacrifice a bit to beat the bastards
