Wishing all our Muslim friends a happy Eid ul-Fitr! We’ll still be open!
During one of my tech support sessions today, I discovered a user whose Tunnelblick kept on disconnecting after a successful connection and it was happening in an infinite loop. He’ll get connected and then within 3-4 seconds would get kicked out. He was using Tunnelblick 3.2beta28 (build 2714) released 2010-07-31 and OS X Lion.
A quick google around led me to the solution:
Go into the settings and make sure ‘Monitor Network Settings’ is unchecked.
You have to do this for all the configurations you’re connecting to and also may wish to restart tunnelblick after saving the settings. In some computers, a complete reboot of the system after saving the settings is needed.
You only need to do this if you’re having problems.
If you’re still scratching your head on which configuration is appropriate for you, we have come up with a table for you to understand it at a glance. Our guides have been updated with the same!

Some of you are probably wondering, what’s that empty sad grey space in BolehVPN-GUI? Well here’s the answer:
Tadah! Some of you might recognize these images from an early build of BolehVPN-GUI which we scrapped when we changed our configuration layout. All these images have been updated courtesy of my awesome and benevolent (if slightly absent minded) friend Max (who is accepting work albeit if you’re willing to wait a bit since he’s quite fully booked up).
For you Windows users, hit Update Config to get the nice little pictures.
Our configuration files have been updated. Just some minor housekeeping with the removal of some old servers and the addition of new ones.
If you are on BolehVPN-GUI, this is an easy process. Just hit the button Update Config and it will do it all automatically.
If you’re not on BolehVPN-GUI or are a Mac/Linux user, head on to our configuration file page and follow the instructions there. Don’t forget to edit the files to use your username!
For Malaysian users, more upgrading! :-/

During this upgrading exercise, our customers subscribing to the affected services may experience minor service interruptions. We would like to assure our customers that the services will resume to normal after the stipulated period.
A new cable fault has been detected and has been announced here. As such users may experience degraded speed until the 7th August if the repairs proceed as planned.
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that our consortium members have detected a fault on the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) submarine cable network linking Malaysia to the United States and North Asia. Immediate restoration works are underway on Monday, 1 August 2011 and are expected to be completed on Sunday, 7 August 2011.
TM has taken pro-active steps to minimize service degradation by diverting traffic to other networks to reduce congestion, thus, minimizing the impact to our users.
However, despite these initiatives, customers using Internet nationwide may experience some degree of service degradation during this exercise.
Internet users may experience slow browsing and high latency while accessing international websites hosted in the United States (US), Europe and North Asia. Customers using Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to US, Europe and North Asia may also experience some level of service degradation.
